What will be assessed:
Identify the checks that need to be completed on a rescue board prior to use
Demonstrate the key safety points related to paddling a rescue board in open water
Explain the procedure if in difficulty, in surf, on a Board
Demonstrate a competent paddle of a distance of 100m in small surf conditions
Demonstrate how to assist a conscious person onto the board, how to signal for assistance and if instructed to escort the casualty back to a point of safety onshore.
The trainers will go through the above points on the assessment day.
